They can be replaced quickly thanks to their modular design, which considerably minimises the downtimes of your vehicles. Berlin’s S-Bahn has been the backbone of the city’s public transport system for over 80 years. Deutsche Bahn decided to buy 500 new trains in 1992. Until 1994, a new generation of vehicles was created between Bombardier Transportation and S-Berlin GmbH to replace the trains, some of which were still from the 1920s and 1930s
