Evolution of efficient Power supply: With PowerBriX into the new decade

The contracts have been made: Over the next few years, PTC Rail OEM GmbH will supply 500 auxiliary power converters from its new PowerBriX product family for Light Rail Vehicles in Brussels, Duisburg, Frankfurt, Zurich. Optional volume up to 330 devices are planned. Further contracts were awarded for the delivery in total of 148 auxiliary power converters for Light Rail Vehicles in Essen, Dresden and Vienna at the end of June. We are looking forward to continuing the trusting and cooperative partnership with two renowned vehicle manufacturers.

With the new generation of PowerBriX converters, PTC Rail OEM GmbH is setting new standards for efficient on-board power supply in rail vehicles thanks to innovative technology based on Silicon (Si) and Silicon Carbide (SiC) semiconductors and an optimized system architecture, PowerTech Converter systems are particularly very compact and lightweight. The consistently modular design of the product family also provides additional advantages: flexible and rapid system configuration to meet customer-specific requirements, and reduced Life Cycle Cost from enhanced maintenance operations with single modules quickly and easily replaced.
